connectivity supplier, today announced that it will expand upon its already extensive USB product line with at least seven new USB products due for release in the next 12 months.

These new modules will complement the highly successful BusStation(TM), which is a modular system that allows users, depending on their unique requirements, to create a custom multifunction hub.

Currently, Belkin Components has maintained 65.9 percent of the market share in USB product sales, and plans to obtain 80 percent by the end of the year. The rapid development of new USB connectivity products is due, in part, to the recent acquisition of the reputable engineering and development firm, eTEK labs Inc., of Rochester, N.Y.

In keeping with the Belkin BusStation(TM) and existing modules, the new modular solutions will feature expandability, compatability and functionality, and each will perform independently and in conjunction with the USB BusStation(TM). Compact and attractively designed to work with both PC and Apple workstations, the Belkin USB modules offer the most aesthetically pleasing connectivity solutions available on the market today.

The PS/2 Adapter provides two additional PS/2 connections to a PC and the ADB Adapter allows users to connect Mac ADB devices to support multiple keyboard and mouse configurations. Supporting the most recent developments in USB technology, Belkin is expected to launch the following to market within the next 12 months: the IrDA Adapter will feature exceptional wireless connectivity; the VideoBus(tm) II will expand the existing VideoBus(tm) capabilities.

This updated version will capture audio signals as well as video, through USB. To permit home/phone networking, the HPNA will allow homes and small businesses to connect computers through existing phone lines.

The USB 56K modem will enable fast Internet connections right from a user's desktop. Bluetooth provides wireless capabilities and improves upon IrDA in speed and connection.
