Belgacom selects ISOCOR for National Internet Service; Carte Jeunes Project Provides Internet Services Plus Personal Smart Cards for Youth Community in Belgium.

ISOCOR (NASDAQ:ICOR), a leading Internet messaging and directory software developer, Friday announced that its N-PLEX Messaging Server, Global Directory Server and Web Express products will form the infrastructure of a new national Internet service in Belgium, which will be provided by the country's leading communications and multimedia Internet Service Provider, Belgacom.

ISOCOR's messaging and directory technology, together with a Web front-end accessible via browser, will allow young people in Belgium to form an online community.

The new national Internet service, entitled Carte Jeunes, will also provide young people with a personal smart card to support a loyalty program that is designed to encourage young Belgians to go online. Easy access to the Internet and Web-tools will give young Belgians the competitive advantage to effectively live, work and shop in a "wired" world.

The Carte Jeunes service will provide its members with:

--   A smart card with a personal ID number that can be used when name
     or age needs to be established.

--   A user account for browsing the Internet and sending and
     receiving email.

--   Directory services allowing users to look up email and other
     contact details of fellow users.

--   The same user account will allow members to add or modify details
     such as their mobile telephone numbers in the directory.

--   Personal Web pages.

--   A re-loadable prepaid Calling Card account linked to the member's
     personal ID number.

ISOCOR and Belgacom engineers are integrating the Web mail and directory building blocks within the Web site of Carte Jeunes (http://www.cartejeunes.be) to bring as much convenience and security as possible to its users.

The ISOCOR products that form the basis for the new service are:

--   N-PLEX Messaging Server, a high-performance Internet messaging
     server. The current Carte Jeunes configuration is for 450,000
     users, but N-PLEX can cope with multi-million user populations
     using a combination of clustering and support for
     high-availability platforms.

--   The Global Directory Server (GDS), which can provide distributed
     directory services for a very large number of users, on a
     national or international scale. GDS is used worldwide in
     national directory services, including PKI (public key
     infrastructure) services for the basis for electronic commerce.

--   WebExpress, a tool that allows N-PLEX and GDS users to access all
     their messaging and directory services via a normal Web browser.
     The front end can be customized to the content, branding and
     "look and feel" of the service provider.
