Belgacom North America names Pierre J. Verbeke vice president of sales.


WESTPORT, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 1996--Belgacom North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  has announced the appointment of Pierre J. Verbeke as vice president of sales.

Based in Westport, Conn., Verbeke will manage sales and customer service for the North American operations North American operation Surgical oncology Radical surgery of a 'frozen pelvis', consisting of radical en bloc resection of the uterus and urinary bladder. See 'Frozen pelvis.'. Cf 'All-American' and 'South American' operations.  of Belgacom, Belguim's national and international telecommunications carrier. Verbeke will work with Belgacom's American, Canadian and Mexican clients to evaluate their needs and help them design and optimize their international telecommunications networks.

Prior to joining Belgacom North America, Verbeke was president and chief executive officer of Econocom-USA Inc., a computer services Data processing (timesharing, batch processing), software development and consulting services. See service bureau, SaaS and ASP.  company based in Memphis, Tenn. and a subsidiary of Econocom International NV. Verbeke also worked for IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  USA and IBM Europe in various sales and marketing positions for more than 15 years.
