Belden Chooses MTI Technology Storage Solutions for Protecting Crucial Data.

MTI Technology Corp. (Nasdaq:MTIC), a leading manufacturer of enterprise storage solutions, announced that Belden Communications Division, a wholly owned subsidiary of Belden Inc. (NYSE:BWC), is continuing its relationship with additional MTI enterprise storage solutions for its SAP, Oracle database and Motiva(TM) Document Management System application environments.

Based in St. Louis, Mo., Belden Inc. has manufacturing facilities in the Netherlands, Hungary, Australia and England, as well as Phoenix; Richmond, Ind.; and Fort Mills, S.C.

MTI's Vivant(TM) Fibre Channel storage area network (SAN) and network attached storage (NAS) systems will help Belden Communications Division meet their changing storage requirements.

"We're also moving into e-commerce with a business-to-business supply chain. We'll be using MTI's Vivant storage solutions to support those efforts."

As a major domestic manufacturer of wire and cable, Belden has been relying on MTI to provide highly available and performance-enhancing storage solutions since 1996. According to Belden, MTI's storage solutions were recently put to the test when Belden suffered two consecutive power failures, resulting in two cold shutdowns of their entire computer system.

"We lost electrical power to the computer room and our UPS backup systems also failed, so we didn't have time to react. The systems just powered off. As we were bringing them back up, we lost power again, resulting in a second cold shutdown," Seck said. "When we finally got them back up, we had no disk failures in our production systems and absolutely no loss of data."
