Belated gratitude.

The guest column by my former colleague Barbara VonVillas ("You Can't Please Everyone," March 2007) brought back many memories, some not so pleasant. It was an interesting period in my education career.

The author, however, left out one important aspect to her work as a superintendent--that of being a teacher. She was my administration mentor. Her class sessions on effective teaching, the readings we administrators had to complete, the observations we conducted, the evaluation process, the writing discussions, etc., were all important to my educational growth. I should say a belated "thank you."
