BelAir Networks Rounds Out Senior Management Team With Key Appointments.

The three appointments are Phil Belanger as Vice-President of Marketing, Greg Partalis as Senior Vice-President of Worldwide Sales, and Gordon Beall as Vice-President of Operations. All three bring extensive experience in their respective areas to BelAir Networks, which they will apply to bring the BelAir200 cellular LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  platform introduced last October into high volume production, develop the support infrastructure required to meet current and future product demand, and drive sales of BelAir products.

Phil Belanger is a wireless LAN A local area network that transmits over the air typically in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz unlicensed frequency band. It does not require line of sight between sender and receiver. Wireless base stations (access points) are wired to an Ethernet network and transmit a radio frequency over an area  industry veteran with over 25 years experience in R&D and marketing for network systems companies. He was one of the founders of the Wi-Fi Alliance (Wi-Fi Alliance, Austin, TX, www.wi-fi.org) A membership organization founded in 1999 devoted to certifying 802.11 wireless Ethernet devices for interoperability. The Wi-Fi CERTIFIED logo on a wireless radio (PC card, access point, etc.  and served as chairman of the organization from its formation in 1999 through March of 2001. Before Vivato he served as Vice-President of Marketing and Vice-President of Wireless Business Development at Wayport. Phil held various executive positions at Aironet, a pioneer in the wireless LAN industry that was acquired by Cisco in 2000. Prior to Aironet, Phil was Vice-President of wireless development at Xircom and General Manager of Communications Products at Adaptec.

Greg Partalis has almost 30 years of experience building leading world-class sales operations in the networking communications and computer industries. Before joining BelAir Networks, Greg was Vice-President, Worldwide Sales and Service at Vivato, where he was responsible for developing Vivato's overall sales strategy and building the company's international sales organization. Prior to Vivato, Greg was Senior Vice-President of Worldwide Sales at Cosine Communications, where he led the company's sales efforts in the IP managed services An umbrella term for third-party monitoring and maintaining of computers, networks and software. The actual equipment may be inhouse or at the third-party's facilities, but the "managed" implies an ongoing effort; for example, making sure the equipment is running at a certain quality  market. Greg served as Vice-President of Sales at Calient Networks, with worldwide responsibility for sales of photonic switching equipment to service providers. He has also held executive positions at Nortel Networks, Bay Networks, and Network Equipment Technologies. Greg started his career at IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) .

Gordon Beall has over 20 years experience in the telecommunications industry. Before joining BelAir Networks Beall was President of SARDON Enterprises Inc., a management consulting company focused on high technology accounts. From 1989 to 2000 Gordon worked through progressively senior positions at Newbridge, including Product Manager for various products in the Newbridge TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) A technology that transmits multiple signals simultaneously over a single transmission path.
