to Quickly Deploy Products with Powerline Networking Capability

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Intellon Corporation (Nasdaq:ITLN), a leading provider of HomePlug([R])-compatible integrated circuits (ICs) for home networking, networked entertainment, Ethernet-over-Coax (EoC) and smart grid applications, today announced that Bel Fuse Inc. (Nasdaq: BELFA and BELFB), a premier developer of magnetic-based solutions for high-speed networking and computer applications, is integrating Intellon's newest HomePlug AV-based chipset in new modules that allow OEMs and ODMs to easily and quickly embed complete HomePlug-based powerline communications capability into networking and consumer electronics devices.

These new PLC modules are ideal for devices including residential gateways, set-top boxes (STBs) for IPTV (Internet Protocol TV) Also called "TV over IP," IPTV delivers scheduled TV programs and video-on-demand (VOD) via the IP protocol and digital streaming techniques used to watch video on the Internet.  (Internet Protocol TV, either terrestrial or satellite), networked TVs, y-cable power supplies, security cameras, network attached storage (NAS (1) See network access server.

PHY-rates ideal for reliable in-home distribution of entertainment-grade video, gaming, and high-bandwidth Internet connections," said Chris Henningsen, vice president of marketing for Intellon Corporation. "They will certainly help OEMs and ODMs who want a fast way of embedding the latest and best HomePlug AV powerline technology in their products."

"Bel is pleased to be partnering with Intellon once again in our effort to bring modular solutions to an ever-expanding HomePlug AV market," said Lee Hancock, broadband product manager at Bel. "We believe these new modules provide the most integrated, cost-effective solution to embed HomePlug AV powerline for any in-home multimedia applications."

The INT6400 is Intellon's most advanced IC. It has the lowest power consumption of any 200 Mbps PHY-rate HomePlug AV-class IC, supports European 2011 Code of Conduct requirements for adapters and embedded products and delivers higher TCP (1) (Transmission Control Protocol) The reliable transport protocol within the TCP/IP protocol suite. TCP ensures that all data arrive accurately and 100% intact at the other end.  throughput and more customer programmability options (such as programmable LEDs, push buttons and diagnostics), as well as improved Quality of Service (QoS).
