Bel's SIMPLE Module Instantly Adds HomePlug 1.0 Functionality to Existing Embedded Systems.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- New Module Synthesizes Intellon's INT5200 IC, Plus Components and Circuitry for All-Encompassing Powerline Networking See powerline network.  Solution

Bel (Nasdaq:BELFA) and (Nasdaq:BELFB), a premier developer of magnetic-based solutions for high-speed networking and computing applications, today announced the addition of two SIMPLE(TM) powerline modules, the 0804-5000-03, and -04, to its Bel product offering. Incorporating Intellon's INT5200 integrated circuit integrated circuit (IC), electronic circuit built on a semiconductor substrate, usually one of single-crystal silicon. The circuit, often called a chip, is packaged in a hermetically sealed case or a nonhermetic plastic capsule, with leads extending from it for , the new Single Inline Package (SIP) devices are engineered to provide OEMs and OEDs with a single component solution for building HomePlug(TM) 1.0 powerline functionality into a wide range of residential and commercial products including desktop PCs, broadband modems, media centers, networked audio, video and gaming devices. Featuring front end circuitry to enhance its performance in embedded applications as well as those utilizing AC and DC cords, these low-power modules are provided in right angle and vertical configurations to further optimize design flexibility. Moreover, as they feature Intellon's proprietary SIMPLE PowerBus(TM) header, and are pin and function compatible with legacy Intellon SIMPLE modules, time-to-market and engineering costs associated with new designs are minimized. The SIP modules are among the first in a series of new products engineered to support HomePlug compliant ICs from Intellon, a Bel manufacturing partner.
