The new lab will be equipped with more than U.S. $1 million of advanced telecommunications hardware, allowing thousands of students and researchers at the University to have access to the latest equipment and tools. BUPT is a key national university for technology and science training with numerous projects funded directly by the Ministry of Information and Property. For many years the University has been responsible for training a large number of China's IT professionals, many of whom have risen to key positions within government and industry. "The new laboratory will serve as a key development resource for the University and strengthen our capability in the data and telecommunications field," said Dr. Lin, president of BUPT.
