: A) today announced that Beijing LHWT LHWT La Habra Woods Townhomes  Microelectronics Inc. (LHWT) has selected the Agilent 93000 SOC Series to test the company's IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, New York, www.ieee.org) A membership organization that includes engineers, scientists and students in electronics and allied fields.  802.11b baseband processor, the first Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN See wireless LAN.

) chip successfully designed and developed in China. The IEEE 802.11b wireless connectivity standard is found in many communication networks, including those in schools, governments and private homes.

The Agilent 93000 is a single, scalable SOC (system on a chip) test system capable of testing the multiple intellectual property (IP) cores found on LHWT's WLAN baseband processor, including mixed-signal and embedded memory circuitry. The system's versatile test capabilities enable LHWT to consolidate various test functions on the Agilent 93000, saving capital equipment cost and reducing test time.

"We are pleased that our 802.11b Wireless LAN A local area network that transmits over the air typically in the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz unlicensed frequency band. It does not require line of sight between sender and receiver. Wireless base stations (access points) are wired to an Ethernet network and transmit a radio frequency over an area  baseband chip was seamlessly verified on the Agilent 93000," said Dr. Nan Jian Wu, Technical Director of LHWT. "This chip required many test patterns, some of which are extraordinarily complex. Agilent's proven capability to complete this arduous testing task in such a short time has demonstrated that the Agilent 93000 test system is the best choice for Wireless LAN chip testing."

LHWT engineers worked closely with the Agilent China semiconductor test support team and application development center to develop a test solution for this WLAN device. In addition to developing test programs, LHWT and Agilent jointly developed a supply chain management solution that integrated "upstream" and "downstream" semiconductor subcontract resources, accelerating LHWT's manufacturing and chip testing programs.

"We are honored to receive recognition from LHWT, and also privileged to participate in the development of their 802.11b WLAN baseband chip," said Paul Yang, general manager of Agilent China's Semiconductor Test Equipment Group. "As China's IC design industry flourishes, we aim to provide the best testing solution for our customers, and also help them manage the subcontract manufacturing process. With Agilent's comprehensive service and support, our customers can also gain time-to-market and cost-of-test advantages."

The LHWT IEEE 802.11b baseband chip completely complies with IEEE 802.11b standard, and surpasses other 802.11b chips in performance categories such as circuit scale, power dissipation and communication characteristics. The LHWT chip is built using semiconductor foundry UMC's 0.25 micrometer micrometer (mīkrŏm`ətər, mī`krōmē'tər).
