Behrman Capital Names Simon Lonergan Partner.

Lonergan has joined the firm as a Partner.

Prior to joining Behrman Capital, Mr. Lonergan, 36, was a Senior Managing Director at The Blackstone Group Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE: BX) is a prominent private equity and investment management firm founded in 1985 by Peter G. Peterson and Stephen A. Schwarzman. The company is based in New York City, in River House on Park Avenue at Fifty-first Street, with offices in Atlanta,  where, based in London, he co-led Blackstone's pursuit of European private equity transactions. Mr. Lonergan joined Blackstone as an Associate in its New York office in 1996, was named a Vice President in 1997 and a Principal in 1998, becoming a Senior Managing Director in 2001. During his time at Blackstone, Mr. Lonergan had significant involvement in eleven transactions across a range of sectors including media, communications, and specialty packaging.

Mr. Lonergan was involved in the execution of investments in such companies as Bresnan Communications, CommNet Cellular, InterMedia Intermedia - A hypertext system developed by a research group at IRIS (Brown University).  Partners VI, TWFanch-one and TWFanch-two, the Spirit Group, and Graham Packaging. Mr. Lonergan served as a director of eight portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Blackstone, Mr. Lonergan worked for Bain & Company as a Consultant from 1989 through 1992 and for Bain Capital Bain Capital LLC is a Boston, Massachusetts-based private equity firm founded in 1984 by Mitt Romney, the former Governor of Massachusetts, and two other partners from the consulting firm Bain & Company: T. Coleman Andrews III and Eric Kriss.  in Boston as an Associate from 1992 through 1994. While at Bain Capital he was involved in completing three investments in a Bain Capital $350 million fund.
