Behaviour is key to learning; SCHOOL GUIDE THE INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL.

ONE of the most important features of The International School is the use of Behaviour for Learning.

This innovative policy enables all staff and students to be aware of the behaviour and rules and standards that are expected at the school and, if a student breaks a rule, then there will be a consequence.

Those who visit the school agree that the use of Behaviour for Learning has been a key element in the school's transformation and success.

Using the initiative in the classroom means that teachers are able to build good relationships with students and focus on teaching rather than dealing with disruption disruption /dis·rup·tion/ (dis-rup´shun) a morphologic defect resulting from the extrinsic breakdown of, or interference with, a developmental process. .

The policy is highly popular with parents because all consequences are entered electronically onto a database, so parents, teachers and students are able to see where problems are occurring and address them.

Parents are informed by letter once their child has received a number of detentions.

The school has a dedicated team of learning mentors who act alongside youth workers to offer a menu of programmes and support packages which ensure that all young people are able to realise their potential at the s chool.
