Begum PM Yousuf Raza Gilani arrives in Malaysia to attend conference on Childhood 'Care & Education'.

KUALA LUMPUR, APR 14: Begum Fauzia Yousaf Raza Gilani, the Wife of the Prime Minister of Pakistan arrived in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia here Tuesday (14th April, 2009) to attend an International Conference on, "Early Childhood Care and Education. Begum Fauzia Yousaf Raza Gilani is leading a High Level Delegation to the International Conference, which includes MNAs Ms Nafeesa Shah and Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA). The wife of Prime Minister of Pakistan will deliver her speech on the topic of "Health and Nutrition: Critical Factors for Child Survival and Development", The three-day conference on theme "Developing Human Capital Begins With Children", will be inaugurated by Dato' Sri Najib Tun Razak, the Prime Minister of Malaysia on Tuesday (14th April, 2009). The participants of the Conference will be sharing views on issues impacting the quality and delivery of services for children, families and communities. Leading experts from United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Sweden, New Zealand and Australia would be present with Malaysian experts to share experiences and ideas on early childhood care and education. So far more than 500 participants from 38 countries with another 210 locals have confirmed their attendance. The objectives of the conference have been termed to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas, information and expertise in child care and education, to emphasize the significance of quality child development, to encourage parental and societal involvement in ensuring care and education for children with different needs and abilities, gifted and talented. The participant of the conference are expected to deliver their speeches on different topic including: children as a national asset, policy essential towards early childhood education program, transforming the early school environment, meaningful parental and societal involvements in child chare and education and Character building of young children. The Government of Malaysia, United Nations Children's Fund (Unicef) and the National Association of Early Childhood Care and Education (NAECCEM) have jointly organized the Conference. Begum Fauzia Gilani graduated from Kinnaird College Lahore, Pakistan. She is also a Patron Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (WCCI), Co-Patron of Patients Welfare Society Jinnah Hospital, Lahore, and Co-Patron 1st and 2nd International Conference on Diabetes under EASD, IDF & DEMU 2005 & 2008. Being an active social worker, she worked for four months as chief of earthquake relief operations of King Edward Medical College/Mayo Hospital at Mansehra NWFP, Pakistan, after devastating earth quake hit Pakistan on October, 2005 and also remained Chief of relief operations for Balochistan flood relief operations (Punjab Initiative) during July, 2007. She is also the Chief organizer of Blood Donation campaign under WCCI in Lahore 2008, Founder of trust in a Community in a rural area of Southern Punjab under Israr Hussain Welfare Trust, constructed and fully funded by self. This trust is operating an International School for Girls, an International School for Boys and a hospital with all the basic facilities. She has also been involved in extra curricular activities. She has been Co-Patron King Edward Arts & Pictorial Society (KAPS), an active member of College Debating Team of Kinnaird College, Lahore
