Beginning in 2006, Springer Science + Business Media (New York) and the Polish publishing house Central European Science Journals (CESJ; Warsaw), will begin co-publishing journals of Central and Eastern European societies and other institutions.

Beginning in 2006, Springer Science + Business Media (New York) and the Polish publishing house Central European Science Journals (CESJ; Warsaw), will begin co-publishing journals of Central and Eastern European societies and other institutions. During the next few years, the number of co-published journals in a variety of disciplines will reach approximately 40 and will cover societies and institutions in Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, the former Yugoslavia and Albania. This partnership will begin with five recently launched titles all named "Central European Journal of..." in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Medicine, currently published by CESJ.

Also, Springer has signed agreements to acquire a group of publishing companies in the Netherlands. The group consists of Rendement Uitgeverij (Rotterdam), Checklist Publishing (Dordrecht), the educational publisher Uitgeverij Goed Bestuur (Rotterdam) and the service company Publicount (Rotterdam). Rendement and Checklist produce news magazines (print and e-mail) in the business-to-business (B2B) market in the management, tax and finance, payroll, personnel, marketing, IT and organisation areas.
