NEHA has made arrangements with the National Swimming Pool Foundation[R] (NSPF[R]) to give conference attendees the opportunity to become a Certified Pool-Spa Operator[R] (CPO (Chief Privacy Officer) An individual who manages the privacy issues within an organization. Arising out of the privacy regulations in finance and health care in the late 1990s, the CPO position eventually crossed over to all industries. [R]) Instructor through this two-day class. Save your department money by being able to provide CPO[R] training in-house and to pool operators in your area. NSPF[R] is providing this course to NEHA members at the discounted rate of $300 (normal cost is $495). The deadline for registration is May 27, 2005, and prerequisites must be met in order to participate. Epi-Ready Team Training--Train-the-Trainer Workshop (Level II)

FREE Food-Safe Schools Action Guide Workshop

CDC and the National Coalition for Food-Safe Schools partners have developed this new resource guide to help with school food safety strategies. The workshop will help your school become a Food Safe School utilizing the Food-Safe Schools Action Guide, other resources, and learning from the experiences of an actual Food Safe School in Rhode Island Rhode Island, island, United States

FREE Risk Communication Workshop

Saturday, June 25 (8:00am-4:00pm)

NEHA is pleased to offer this one-day workshop sponsored by the Army Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine preventive medicine, branch of medicine dealing with the prevention of disease and the maintenance of good health practices. Until recently preventive medicine was largely the domain of the U.S. . The workshop focuses on providing participants with the communications skills necessary to communicate in sensitive and difficult situations. The training is designed to help participants anticipate, analyze, and address issues that could affect their organization's mission. A hands-on exercise on handling difficult questions in challenging situations is also included. There is no charge for this workshop, however, the size is limited to 50 people. Instrumentation and Sampling Workshop--Tools and Techniques for the Comprehensive Food Service Inspection

Saturday, June 25 (8:30am-4:30pm)

This workshop is intended to provide participants with new approaches, techniques, and tools in performing food service evaluations and audits. The course emphasizes the appropriate use of portable field instruments, as well as their limitations and capabilities. You will also learn easy sampling strategies through the application of ANSI/ASQ standards. All participants will have an opportunity to use the various field instruments under actual use conditions, and apply the practical sampling skills learned through lecture and large group discussion. Cost is $89 for members and $109 for nonmembers if you sign up by June 10, 2005, Limit 40 people.

Designing and Delivering Effective Training--Full Workshop

Friday & Saturday, June 24 & 25 (8:00am-5:00pm), Sunday, June 26 (1:00-5:00pm), and Monday, June 27 (8:00am-5:00pm)

This workshop is the full NESHTA ANSI (American National Standards Institute, New York, www.ansi.org) A membership organization founded in 1918 that coordinates the development of U.S. voluntary national standards in both the private and public sectors. It is the U.S. member body to ISO and IEC.  Z490.1-based course for trainers. Topics covered include training program design and development, administration and management, delivery, evaluation, and record keeping--everything you need to develop and deliver fully compliant training programs. Cost is $499 for NESHTA and NEHA members, and $619 for nonmembers if you sign up by June 10, 2005. Registration includes a ticket to NESHTA's Networking Breakfast on Sunday, June 26.

Designing Effective Training Workshop
