To coincide with the theatrical release of "Red Dragon" on October 4th, Anchor Bay Entertainment is repromoting the DVD of the original film based on Thomas Harris' novel "Red Dragon," "Manhunter." Directed by Michael Mann Michael Mann is the name of:

The "Manhunter" DVD includes two separate featurettes recently shot exclusively for the DVD -- "Inside Manhunter" focuses on interviews with the key actors including Cox, Petersen, Golden Globe nominee Joan Allen and Tom Noonan; "The Manhunter Look" is a conversation with Cinematographer Dante Spinotti. The DVD carries a suggested retail price of $19.98 and is closed-captioned for the hearing impaired. "Manhunter" is THX-approved and presented widescreen (2.35:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs in Dolby(R) Surround 5.1 sound. A VHS (Video Home System) A half-inch, analog videocassette recorder (VCR) format introduced by JVC in 1976 to compete with Sony's Betamax, introduced a year earlier.  version of the film is also available for a suggested retail price of $9.99.

FBI agent Will Graham (Petersen) has an unusual ability. Graham is able to immerse himself so deeply in his grisly investigations that he begins to think like the murderers he pursues. This ability has enabled him to capture several famous serial killers, the most recent of which is Hannibal Lecter (Cox) -- the infamous deranged de·range

The term modus operandi is most commonly used in criminal cases. It is sometimes referred to by its initials, M.O.
: he slaughters entire suburban families and takes jagged bites out of the victims. The FBI is unable to successfully track the unpredictable killer who is nicknamed `The Tooth Fairy' by the tabloids.
