The link between the sporting neighbours includes the creation of a large community department to encourage the development of rugby football and other sports, including hockey, in Solihull.

On the pitch the Bees are set to strengthen their squad for their return to National Two after eight years by signing winger Joseph Mbu from French club Dax.

The 26-year-old Nigeria-born player has already had stints with Bristol, Bath, Harlequins and Wasps but he moved to France three years ago when he scored 12 tries in 25 games for Pau.
