April 2002 Estimated Domestic Brewer Sales:

Unofficial national sales data indicates an increase of 3.4% in taxable
removals, from 14.70 million barrels in April 2001 to an estimated 15.20
million barrels in April 2002.

Taxable removals measure the amount of beer shipped from domestic
brewers into the U.S. market.

Figures are in millions of barrels (31 gallons per barrel)

March 2002 Imports of Malt Beverages:

The United States Department of Commerce reports total imports of malt
beverages from all countries for the month of March 2002 at 2,026,509
barrels compared to March 2001 total imports of 1,958,520 barrels.

The United States Department of Commerce reports total commercial
exports of malt beverages to all countries for the month of March 2002
at 151,659 barrels compared to March 2001 commercial exports of 191,310
barrels.

March 2002 State-by-State Shipments:

The State-by-State Beer Shipments Estimate for March 2002 reveals a
decrease of 0.8% in consumption from 16,767,404 barrels in March 2001 to
an estimate of 16,625,500 barrels.

Shipment data represents shipments from brewers to wholesalers
(including imports) within the state or entire U.S. and is the best
available proxy for "consumption." The State-by-State Beer Shipments
Estimate is the cumulative total of all states. The year-to-date figures
are based upon a combination of state shipment data already received and
estimates for data not yet received.
