Beeb backs hall bid.A RURAL affairs TV show is to feature a fading Northumberland country mansion, backing a bid to save it from decay. A piece for BBC BBC in full British Broadcasting Corp. One's Countryfile was shot this week at Seaton Delaval Hall Seaton Delaval Hall is a country house in Northumberland, England, between Seaton Sluice and Seaton Delaval. It was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh in 1718 for Admiral George Delaval. The Delaval family had owned the estate since the time of the Norman conquest. , as the National Trust continue their drive to raise pounds 6.3m to save the historic building. The show's producers were interested in the Trust's attempt to acquire the hall from owner Lord Hastings and use it for the good of the community. They filmed inside the hall and its grounds as well as the surrounding area for a show due to air on Sunday, March 22. Adam Henson, BBC Countryfile presenter said: "I was amazed by the hall, gardens and grounds at Seaton Delaval Coordinates: Seaton Delaval is a village in the Blyth Valley district of Northumberland, England, with a population of about 7,000 it is the largest of the five villages in the Seaton Valley. It is the site of Seaton Delaval Hall. - it is a wonderful place. "The whole concept of using the place as a local community venue as well as a tourist attraction is a great idea - well done to the National Trust. "I wish them the best of luck with their fundraising efforts and would love to see them become the proud owners of such a special place."
