1. To propose by name as a candidate, especially for election.

2. To designate or appoint to an office, responsibility, or honor.
 a member for the job. Or, if you're interested in a leadership role, self-nomination is the best way make your interest known.

The CalCPA Nominations Committee is accepting nominations until Dec. 1 for 2007-08 CalCPA officers and at-large At-Large is a designation for representative members of a governing body who are elected or appointed to represent the whole membership of the body (for example, a city, state or province, nation, club or association), rather than a subset of that membership.  council members.

Officer positions include chair, first vice chair, treasurer and two vice chairs. Three at-large council members also will be elected.

Members can apply for more than one office and will be considered only for the positions to which they apply.

The Nominations Committee will recommend candidates to AICPA Council, which establishes AICPA policies and procedures Policies and Procedures are a set of documents that describe an organization's policies for operation and the procedures necessary to fulfill the policies. They are often initiated because of some external requirement, such as environmental compliance or other governmental , and enacts resolutions that are binding on the board, officers, committees and staff.

All letters must be received by 5 p.m. Dec. 1. The AICPA makes the final selections.
