Beckman Coulter names new CEO.


Fullerton, CA 1/21/05--Beckman Coulter has named President and COO Scott Garrett E. Scott Garrett (born July 9, 1959 in Englewood, New Jersey) is a member of the United States House of Representatives. He is a Republican and has represented New Jersey's Fifth Congressional District seat since January 2003 (map).  as the new CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , succeeding John P. Wareham, who is retiring. Mr. Garrett will assume CEO duties effective February 21 and was elected to the Board on January 17. Prior to joining Beckman Coulter This article needs sources or references that appear in reliable, third-party publications. Mr. Garrett was appointed president and COO in December 2003 (see IBO Ibo: see Igbo.  3/15/ 04) and was previously president of the Clinical Diagnostics unit. Mr. Wareham announced his retirement plans last year. Whether the change will affect the Biomedical Research division remains to be seen.
