Beck is back for Toon gig.


One of the world's greatest electric guitarists, Jeff Beck, is on his first UK tour in 14 years, and arrives at Newcastle City Hall Newcastle City Hall is a concert hall located in Newcastle upon Tyne, which has hosted many popular music acts through the years.

Fresh from the success of picking up his fourth Grammy award The Grammy Awards (originally called the Gramophone Awards) are presented annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States for outstanding achievements in the record industry. The current President of the Academy is Neil Portnow. , the ground-breaking guitarist promises a set that reflects the eclectic musical mix that is his trademark.

From mixing rock and jazz to produce seminal albums like Blow By Blow and Wired, to incorporating eastern, classical and blues influences, expect innovative visits to his extensive back catalogue as well as revealing glimpses of his next project featuring a string section.

Jan Hammer will join Beck on stage for all of his UK dates. Although he has contributed to most of Jeff's albums since Wired, and have toured together many times in the USA and Japan, they have only ever played one date in the UK until now.

Probably best known for his 90 episodes of Miami Vice music, Jan went on to be a major film composer as well as writing for Jeff ( they won a Grammy for the track Escape.

Support for Sunday's gig comes in the shape of Amy Wadge.
