Bechtel, Bentley and Jacobus Announce Trilateral Strategic Alliance; Bechtel to Standardize on MicroStation, Jacobus to Acquire Bechtel 3DM Plant Design Products.ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 7, 1995--A/E/C SYSTEMS '95-- Bechtel Corporation, Bentley Systems Bentley Systems, Incorporated, provides software for the "Design, construction and operation of the world's infrastructure". The company’s software serves the building, plant, civil, and geospatial vertical markets in the areas of architecture, engineering, construction (AEC) , Inc., and Jacobus Technology, Inc., announced today that they have reached a groundbreaking three-way strategic agreement. It makes commercially available -- and secures a strong future for -- the MicroStation-based plant design system of one of the world's largest engineering and construction firms. Specifically, Jacobus will acquire the rights to Bechtel's internally developed 3DM(TM) and WalkThru(TM) plant design products. Bechtel will receive rights to future Jacobus systems and products incorporating 3DM technology. MicroStation(R) from Bentley has been chosen as the CAD environment for the Jacobus system and will continue to be a component of Bechtel's internal automation strategy. Bentley and its channels will also distribute the Jacobus product.
