Beaux Arts townhouse to be auctioned Nov. 7.

Sheldon Good & Company, the nation's largest real estate auction company, announced the Nov. 7 auction of a magnificent 25-foot wide Beaux Arts townhouse at 47 E. 68th St., situated in the highly desirable Park Avenue/Lenox Hill neighborhood. The auction will be conducted at 8 p.m. at the Intercontinental hotel at 48th Street and Lexington Avenue. The townhouse will be sold in an open outcry reserve auction format. Previously priced at $14 million, suggested opening bid is $7.5 million.

The auction will be the climax of public attention on the townhouse as the spectacular home is the focus of this year's Seventh American Hospital of Paris French Designer Showhouse. The French Designer Showhouse will be on public display Oct. 11 through Nov. 11.

The American Hospital of Paris French Designer Showhouse is being organized this year for the seventh time by Charles Patteson Associates, Inc., known for its many highly successful showhouses which have drawn thousands of visitors and generated rave reviews in some of the nation's most prestigious shelter and design magazines, as well as international publications. The home is being graciously lent by the owners, Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Mandel for the American Hospital of Paris 2001 French Designer Showhouse, and then it will be auctioned by Sheldon Good & Company Auctions NorthEast.
