IF YOU go down to the woods at Guisborough next month, you're sure of a big surprise...

GUISBOROUGH FOREST FESTIVAL on Sunday, September 13 will bring together 100 rustic entertainers, crafts people and wildlife experts and making a show-stopping debut will some weird and wonderful 9ft tall creatures. With moving eyes, swiveling ears, noses that wrinkle and whiskers which glow in the dark, they are the creation of the acclaimed Los Kaos theatre troupe and employ incredible hi-tech animatronics.

"The fantasy beasts will be in their element in Guisborough Forest," says Forestry Commission ranger Cath Brason. "They recently wowed the crowds at the Harry Potter book launch in London."

Now in its sixth year, the outdoor event has been organised by the Forestry Commission, Redcar & Cleveland Council and Friends of Guisborough Forest.

There'll also be chance to join a didgeridoo masterclass, sample organic produce like honey from the reviving British black bee, make music and scale your own Everest by shinning up a climbing wall.
