THE Beatles scored a hat-trick claiming the top three slots in a poll of the top 1,000 albums .

More than a third of the best-loved records came from the Sixties and Seventies. The Spice Girls failed to make it into the top 100, ranking 101, in the Virgin poll out tomorrow.
