But with a resurgence in the fighting-game genre, hopes were high it could knock Capcom's classic from its lofty perch. While King Of Fighters XII gets a few elements right, there's no getting away from the fact there are better brawlers on the market. The wonderfully animated characters and delicious backgrounds are stand-out features but with only six locations to fight in and a lack of single-player options, it falls well short of the mark.
