Beasley Broadcasting Announces the Appointment of Deborah Parenti as General Manager of 92.5 WXTU Philadelphia's Country Station.


BALA CYNWYD, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 3, 1997--Beasley Broadcasting is pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah Parenti as vice president/general manager of WXTU (92.5 FM, Philadelphia) effective Friday.

Deborah leaves her position as vice president and general manager of a group of six radio stations (WONE, WTUE, WMMX WMMX Wireless Mmx , WXEG, WLQT, and WBTT WBTT Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe (Sarasota, Florida) ) in Dayton, Ohio Dayton is a city in southwestern Ohio, United States. It is the county seat and largest city of Montgomery County. As of the 2005 census estimate, the population of Dayton was 158,873. .

As a businesswoman, Working Woman, Radio Inc. and Radio Business Report magazines have profiled Parenti. She has been a featured panelist at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) convention and Radio Advertising Bureau The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) is the sales and marketing arm of the Radio industry with nearly 7,000 members, including almost 6,000 stations in the U.S., and over 1,000 associate members in networks, representative firms, sales and international organizations.  (RAB Rab (räb), Ital. In 1997, she was a finalist for the Radio Inc. "General Manager of the Year" at the Radio Advertising Bureau's annual convention. Parenti was recognized by American Radio Systems as its "GM of the Year" in 1996.

Parenti admits that leaving Dayton was a difficult decision. "The opportunity to write a new chapter personally, as well as professionally, in Philadelphia was a unique and challenging one, however, and something that I knew in my heart was the right move at the right time for me. WXTU is a great radio station, Beasley Broadcasting an outstanding company and I'm excited to become a part of this proud and successful operation."
