Beasley Broadcast Group Brings Rhythmic Hit Music to Philadelphia; 96.5 FM Switches to High Energy, Street-Oriented Music Sound.

Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: BBGI) announced that at 5:00 p.m. EST today, WPTP-FM (96.5 mhz) introduced Philadelphia radio listeners to a new Rhythmic CHR-based format featuring cross-over hip-hop, CHR and R&B artists.

96.5 FM introduces an exciting, entertaining, street-oriented sound to the Philadelphia airwaves uniquely different than other urban or top 40 music choices available on the radio dial today. Featuring a blend of hits from 50 Cent, Ashanti, Beyonce, Ludacris, Baby Bash, Sean Paul, Missy Elliott and other popular hip-hop, CHR and Rhythm & Blues cross-over artists, the new 96.5 FM has been created from the ground up with an edge that is positively Philly. Over the next few weeks and months, listeners can expect to hear mostly music from the new station as it builds its roster of on-air personalities.

The new format targets listeners aged 18-34. Bill Tanner of Bill Tanner & Associates Inc. and Jerry Clifton of New World Communications helped design the new format and tailor it to Philadelphia audiences. The sound is based on modifications to a successful format developed at one of the nation's top Rhythmic-CHR stations, Power 96 in Miami, which is also owned by Beasley Broadcast Group.
