The turnover volume was low at 156.563 million shares as prices of 119 scrips record gains and 235 sustained loss while 18 remained unchanged. The market capitalization was eroded by Rs 31.52 billion to Rs 2.572 trillion. A dealer at a leading brokerage house said that selling pressure was on the opening of market and despite some buying market remained weak till the close.
