their performance management initiatives through presentations at SAPPHIRE[R] '07, the SAP conference taking place in Atlanta, April 22-25.

As part of an integrated business intelligence platform, performance management encompasses assessment, design, and implementation of the organization's processes, data and technology to effectively monitor performance against strategies and plans.

"At its core, we're looking to leverage the business intelligence systems and resources inside a company, and integrate them with the rest of an organization's systems and resources," said Dan Miller, senior manager at BearingPoint. "Through our relationship with SAP, we can offer a comprehensive, common BI platform. And, because of our alliances with multiple BI vendors, we know the technology capabilities of current BI offerings, enabling us to develop the right strategy and identify the best tools to deliver a performance management solution for our SAP clients."

With new SAP NetWeaver[R] capabilities, the gap between enterprise BI tools on the market today has closed. As a result, the question of which among the available BI/PM choices can deliver the necessary capabilities and agility to support a company's performance management strategy has become more critical.

Miller will examine the issue including the opportunities of SAP applications, speaking on "Choosing the right platform for your Performance Management Solution" in BearingPoint's Premier Partner Booth (#1205) at SAPPHIRE '07 at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 23.

While business intelligence solutions and offerings, like performance management, can be powerful tools that save money, raise performance and meet the needs of decision-makers across an organization, many companies find they do not receive much return on investment. "Much of the disappointing performance of BI can be traced to user dissatisfaction with the new solution, which results in employees either not using the new systems effectively or not using them at all," said Miller.
