BearingPoint Awarded $188 Million Contract to Support U.S. Army's Enterprise Solutions Competency Center.

MCLEAN, Va. -- BearingPoint, Inc. (NYSE:BE), one of the world's largest management and technology consulting firms, announced today that it has been awarded a contract to support the Enterprise Solutions Competency Center of the Army Communication-Electronics Command. The contract is valued at up to $188 million over its base year and including four one-year options.

Under the new agreement, BearingPoint will provide consulting services to the ESCC in the areas of systems engineering, software development, enterprise resource planning and service oriented architecture implementation.

One of BearingPoint's initial tasks will be to support the Joint Medical Information Systems (JMIS) Program Office at TRICARE Management Activity. TRICARE is the healthcare plan for the uniformed services, retirees and their families, serving a beneficiary population of more than 9.2 million worldwide. The Program Office supports full lifecycle development of mission-critical healthcare systems, including design, development, testing, evaluation and deployment.
