Mr. Dan Slabbert, Executive Chairman of Bearing Power (Canada) Limited noted that the results for the quarter reflected the continuing strength in the mining, pulp and paper and forestry sectors of the economy. Mr. Slabbert added that the Company's ability to contain costs while increasing sales resulted in the quarters results being significantly higher than those reported last year. One consequence of the increased profitability of the Company is that the majority of the available tax losses carried forward will be utilized this year and accordingly the Company has booked an income tax provision of $454,000. Mr. Slabbert also added that he is confident that the balance of this financial year will continue to be as strong as the first quarter.
