The press release will also be available on the firm's Web site at http://www.bearstearns.com.

Following the release of the financial results, a conference call to discuss the firm's results will be held at 10:00 a.m., (E.S.T.) on September 18, 2003. Those wishing to listen to the call should dial toll-free 1-800-419-0063 (or 1-703-464-5608 for international callers) at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the call to ensure connection to the conference. The conference call will also be accessible through the firm's Web site at http://www.bearstearns.com.
