Bear Stearns Hires Ilan Kaufthal as Vice Chairman of Investment Banking.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 10, 2000

Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. announced today that Ilan Kaufthal has joined the firm as a senior managing director and vice chairman of its Investment Banking Division. Mr. Kaufthal comes to Bear Stearns The Bear Stearns Companies, Inc. (NYSE: BSC) is the parent company of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc., one of the largest global investment banks and securities trading and brokerage firms in the world.  from Schroder & Co. Inc., where he was vice chairman, head of mergers and acquisitions and a member of the firm's Executive Committee.
