Bear Stearns' First Allocation From Charitable Fund Will Aid The Concert for New York City.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 18, 2001

The donation marks the first distribution from the fund, which was established to facilitate donations from the Firm, its employees and its clients to those affected by the September 11th tragedy.

All of the proceeds from the concert will go directly to the Robin Hood Relief Fund to meet the immediate and long-term requirements of the neediest victims of the September 11th attack.  associated with the concert, and therefore, 100% of the monies raised will be use to help those in need. Additionally, 300 firefighters, police officers and rescue workers will be guests of Bear Stearns at the concert.

Commenting on the donation, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer James E. Cayne, said, "We are honored to be sponsoring an event that can potentially raise a tremendous amount of money for those in need, but will also provide New Yorkers with a way to come together, celebrate and support our city."
