Beadle after the Head of Maiden.

Newport County Newport County may refer to:
  • Newport County, Rhode Island, United States
  • Newport County A.F.C., a football (soccer) club in the United Kingdom
manager Peter Beadle BEADLE. Eng. law. A messenger or apparitor of a court, who cites persons to appear to what is alleged against them, is so called.  welcomes relegation rivals Maidenhead Maidenhead, city (1991 pop. 59,809), Windsor and Maidenhead, S central England, on the Thames River. It is a residential town with brewing and milling industries as well as a resort. The 13th-century stone bridge was rebuilt in the 1770s.  to Spytty Park tomorrow (3pm) telling his players: 'We've got 21 games to save our season.'

Last weekend's defeat at Carshalton, the other team in the drifting bottom three, left County bottom of the table and without a league win in six.

The performance at Carshalton left Beadle asking serious questions of his players' appetite for the muck and scars ahead as they strive to survive.

'People say to me 'you can't lose this one' but we can and we could,' he said. 'If we were to lose tomorrow that wouldn't mean we were relegated but it would make our jobs a hell of a lot harder.

'Last Saturday was the first time since I have been here that we just didn't perform and I have left them in no uncertain terms that I will not accept that.

'I had a board meeting last week where I told the board that with one or two additions I am chasing, I believe this squad is good enough to stay in the league.

'Then they went an produced a performance like that. What must the board have been thinking of me, they must have thought I was drunk.

'If we can beat Maidenhead and Carshalton's result goes for us then it could all look very different on Saturday evening.

'We have done well at home but that will only count if we start performing.'
