Beach takes on Spanish style.

BIRMINGHAM'S beach is taking everyone to the sunsoaked island of Menorca this weekend.

The Monarch A data capture program from Datawatch Corporation, Chelmsford, MA, (www.datawatch.com), that is used to transfer data from mainframe and minicomputer reports to the PC. It uses report files that contain data ready to print.  beach is offering a weekend of free entertainment with a Spanish feel from traditional guitar music to a Hed Kandi party.

Child friendly activities will also be on offer with a balloon modeller, free face painting and henna tattoos on Saturday.

A children's drawing competition will be held to give budding budding, type of grafting in which a plant bud is inserted under the bark of the stock (usually not more than a year old). It is best done when the bark will peel easily and the buds are mature, as in spring, late summer, or early autumn.  artists the chance to get creative and have their work on display for beach visitors.

The weekend finishes with a family film showing of Shrek the Third at 3pm on Sunday. Coun Martin Mullaney, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport & Culture said: "Birmingham City Council has one of the largest events programmes in the country, providing all of our residents and visitors with great opportunities to come together and enjoy themselves at little or no cost.

"The Monarch Beach has been hugely popular this year, and in the current financial climate it's great that so many people are taking advantage of this free attraction."

The Monarch Beach is located in Chamberlain Square Chamberlain Square is a public open space in central Birmingham, England (grid reference SP066869), named after Joseph Chamberlain.

  • Paradise Forum (beneath the reference library)
 and is free to visit.
