Beach Bar: Overlooking a beach on Spain's rocky north-west coast, this restaurant is a tactful presence in the landscape.


Costa de la Muerte (Death Coast) is not as much mentioned in the tourist brochures as some others. But much of the rocky coast of north-west Spain has a sublime rocky grandeur, and some of the coves have excellent beaches. On one of these, near La Coruna La Co·ru·ña

, there is a new small restaurant and bar.

. So the architects decided to consolidate the ruins in the platform and use them to provide beach services.

The grey box is pierced by two large openings, one in the south-east wall, offering grand views from the restaurant over bay and sea, and the other in the roof, which brings light down to a small enclosed courtyard terrace.
