Be very afraid. (reader forum).Thank you, Rich Tafel. Your column gave me a moment of hope [My Perspective, November 6]. Unfortunately, the fear you talk about has turned into a hate as vicious and deceitful as the people who have attacked us--a hate that has totally alienated me from a community I have long been very much a part of. I once thought Kate Clinton Kate Clinton has been an American comedian for over 25 years, specializing in political commentary from a gay/lesbian point of view. She was born in Buffalo, New York. Comic career was funny; now when I read her I think of Fred Phelps FRED PHELPS WILL BURN IN HELL! HIS LIFE ISN'T WORTH BEING DISCUSSED! SPREAD THE WORD. THE WORD OF: GAY RIGHTS!! with a sex change. I can only imagine the hate mail Tafel will get as a result of his honest and brave perspective. Joe Vine, New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of , N.Y. Tafel would like me to conclude that George Bush is an "incomplete" monster because he's managed to make three gay appointments to Bill Clinton's how many? I believe that in the old world of civil rights you'd be termed an Uncle Tom. Not sure what the corollary is today: "Uncle John" crossed my mind (in honor of John Paulk), but that wouldn't be politically correct politically correct Politically sensitive adjective Referring to language reflecting awareness and sensitivity to another person's physical, mental, cultural, or other disadvantages or deviations from a norm; a person is not mentally retarded, but , would it?
