ClickStart works directly within an affiliate's web authoring tool environment using eXtensible Markup Language (XML). Affiliates can now place promotional links on their sites within seconds, without having to write or copy any HTML code. ClickStart is an application programmer's interface (API) that allows web authoring tools to seamlessly and invisibly connect affiliates directly to Be Free's infrastructure and manage their relationships with Be Free's merchants without having to leave their web authoring tool. ClickStart was launched earlier in the year with Netopia(RM)'s netJane, TrellixWeb and a WebsUnlimited Add-in for Microsoft FrontPage 2000(R).

Prior to the availability of GoCash, webmasters had to leave the web-authoring environment to review and select promotions appropriate for their web site. Also, webmasters previously had to create affiliate links by cutting and pasting HTML code into the authoring tool, a process that carried the risk of errors. GoCash eliminates this risk and saves Adobe(R) GoLive(TM) 5.0 users' time. Once GoLive(TM) 5.0 users download GoCash from the Adobe web site, it becomes fully integrated into their software and follows the component model familiar to GoLive(TM) 5.0 web developers.
