), announced today that their Telemarkone unit has signed two important contracts that will launch the initial phase of their national telemarketing telemarketing, the practice of selling goods or services to customers by means of the telephone or of surveying consumer preferences in telephone conversations.  program. The contracts are with AT&T Wireless and the California Long Distance Co.

The Telemarkone unit is located in the Bayport headquarters in Independence, Kan. Jim Porter, Bayport president, said "This is a very exciting moment for the company, and we are in the final stages of negotiation with several other national accounts as well." Telemarkone is an outbound call center with which companies contract for the purpose of contacting their existing customer bases. Bayport also utilizes the call center in the process of servicing its own customers. The unit is comprised of the latest equipment and employs members of the local community. "With these contracts in place, the center will produce immediate revenues and earnings," said Porter.
