Bayou Sorrel Victims Association, LLC Announces New Web Site.

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Bayou Sorrel Victims Association, LLC launched a web site to provide information regarding area property contamination. On June 9, 2006, in Case Number 60,195 the Louisiana 18th Judicial District Court found Clean Harbors Plaquimine, LLC's property in the swamps of south Louisiana "presents an imminent and substantial endangerment to health and the environment." In that same ruling, the Court further found that Clean Harbors Plaquimine, LLC's "pits" were "used for the storage and disposal of chemical waste" and that "[e]vidence submitted by both Parties demonstrates that chemical contamination of the soil and groundwater in and around this pollution source is widespread and substantial." The Mission of the Bayou Sorrel Victims Association, LLC is to help protect the health and safety of the citizens of Bayou Sorrel, LA and their family members. By unifying together to form a common bond, this mission can be accomplished. By exposing the environmental travesties that have been heaped upon the Bayou Sorrel residents it is hoped that the children of the community will be able to grow up enjoying the Bayou as their forefathers did for centuries before industry invaded this precious area.
