Superbikes have have lightweight frames and are powered by high performance engines. Their design is more focused on race track performance than rider comfort.  at Assen and clinched the 2001 World Superbike Championship. The 32-year old Australian, in just his second season in World Superbikes, won both races from his team-mate Ruben Xaus with one round remaining at Imola in Italy.
