Bayer and Shell complete polyols license agreement.


Bayer Antwerp N.V., Leverkusen, Germany, and Shell International Research Maatschappij BV, The Hague, The Hague, The (hāg), Du. 's Gravenhage or Den Haag, Fr. La Haye, city (1994 pop. 445,279), administrative and governmental seat of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, capital of South Holland prov., W Netherlands, on the North Sea.  Netherlands, have entered a license agreement under undisclosed terms enabling Shell to implement double metal cyanide cyanide (sī`ənīd'), chemical compound containing the cyano group, -CN.  polyols using Shell's process de sign under Bayer's existing Impact patents. The Impact technology specifies a process to use double metal cyanide as catalyst for the polyoxyalkylation. The license agreement specifically includes a continuous process to produce long chain polyether polyols, which are used as the base products for flexible polyurethane slabstock foams.
