Bayer MaterialScience restructures marketing operations.

The marketing organization of the coatings, adhesives and sealants business unit of Bayer MaterialScience AG has been restructured. Effective January 1, changes have been made in the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America regions aimed at further improving cooperation with customers in the coatings and adhesives industry. In the industrial coatings section, coating raw materials for automotive, plastic and UV-curing coatings, industrial coatings in general, and can and coil coatings have been grouped together. Volker Mirgel has been succeeded as head of marketing in this section by Mark Rubenstrunk, who is responsible for strategic and commercial policy, and Martin Vollmer, who is in charge of the business development section. The marketing activities of the specialties section, which incorporates the corrosion protection, construction and textile coatings sections and a number of newly formed units, remain under the leadership of Ulrich Meier-Westhues. In the adhesives section, the newly defined marketing unit is headed by Ralf Gehring, while Heinz-Werner Lucas is in charge of business development.
