Bayer MaterialScience AG has signed a joint development agreement with InPhase Technologies, Longmont, CO, for the development and supply of polymer raw materials for the production of optical storage media with a very high storage capacity.

It was created as part of the restructuring of Bayer AG from the former business group Bayer Polymers, with certain of its activities being spun off to Lanxess AG. InPhase was spun out from Bell Labs in 2000.
