Bayer Introduces New Heat Resistant Therban HT to Petrochemical Industry.

AKRON, Ohio--(AutomotiveWire)--Sept. 28, 1999--

Bayer Corporation has introduced new technology for high-temperature applications beyond the traditional limits of HNBR HNBR Hydrogenated Acrylonitrile-Butadiene Rubber .

A Heat-Resistant Therban(R) developmental product, Therban HT VP KA 8805, was developed to perform in temperatures up to 165(degree) C.

Retaining more than 50 percent of its properties at 150(degree)C for up to or nearly twice as long as other HNBR compounds, Therban HT is ideal for many petrochemical petrochemical, any one of a large group of chemicals derived from a component of petroleum or natural gas. The cracking processes for manufacturing gasoline produce vast quantities of gaseous hydrocarbons.  sealing applications.

"In oil well applications, Therban HT exhibits longer service life, reducing downtime The time during which a computer is not functioning due to hardware, operating system or application program failure.  and improving cost-effectiveness," said Brian McCue, Business Manager, Therban. "Many parts made with Therban HT could, in the long run, provide a significant cost savings for customers."
