Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Streamlines Workplace Processes with FM:Systems Facility Management Software.
RALEIGH, N.C. -- FM:Systems, a leading provider of integrated workplace management systems (IWMS) and computer-aided facility management systems (CAFM), today announced that Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals is using FM:Systems' flagship product, FM:Interact, to share workplace information enterprise-wide. Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals is a specialty pharmaceutical company committed to addressing unmet medical needs through research and development in the areas of oncology, gastroenterology, women's health, diagnostics and neurology.
"FM:Systems has allowed us to have real-time access to accurate information on workplace utilization, move projects, maintenance and assets. As a result, we recently had to shift 80% of the company, separating them into two separate groups and were able to move 90% of the people within four months," stated Steven Baumgardner, manager of engineering and facilities at Bayer. "FM:Interact significantly impacted our ability to reach that ambitious goal."
The comprehensiveness and flexibility of FM:Systems' products allowed Bayer to configure a single system to manage all of their facility management processes - including space allocations, occupancy and moves, and maintenance. Additionally, FM:Systems and AMS CAFM Solutions, an FM:Systems Certified Business Partner, worked together to utilize FM:Interact's Asset Management Module to track Bayer's furniture and computer assets. Using Quickscan[TM], a Pocket PC software product created by AMS, Bayer was able to barcode assets and easily perform field verifications of asset information.
"FM:Interact and Quickscan[TM] will make asset tracking affordable for Bayer," said Dan Lorenz, technical director for AMS CAFM Solutions. "As a result, they'll have a better understanding of where valuable assets are located or who to contact if those assets can't be found."
FM:Interact is an integrated suite of powerful, Web-based workplace management products that enable organizations to share facilities information and manage processes that impact entire organizations. FM:Interact runs on an organization's intranet and can be accessed by all employees using standard Web browsers. With its intuitive interface, companies have quick and easy access to key facilities information such as floorplans, reports, employee information and critical documents.
FM:Interact enables an organization to:
* Manage space and occupancy across multiple locations
* Access property information with a simple point and click map-based interface
* Run live reports, view floor plans, search archived drawings and critical documents
* Share facilities information enterprise-wide via the corporate intranet
* Dynamically search for employees and related information
* Streamline maintenance and move processes
* Provide responsive and efficient service to an organization
"Making our products work with our customers' needs is always our top priority," stated Michael Schley, president and CEO of FM:Systems.
