Integrated BayPackets/Convedia Solution Delivers Cost Effective and

Differentiated Enhanced Services for Wireline, Wireless

Under the terms of the agreement, BayPackets will resell, market and support Convedia's award winning CMS-6000 and CMS-1000 media servers in conjunction with the BayPackets Agility Network Services Platform (NSP (1) (Network Service Provider) An organization that provides a high-speed Internet backbone to ISPs and other service providers. See Internet backbones. ) and Agility Network Applications, a next-generation enhanced services platform and applications suite that can be deployed as a service control point (SCP (1) (Service Control Point) A node in an SS7 telephone network that provides an interface to databases, which may reside within the SCP computer or in other computers. ) or application server in traditional and packet-based telecommunications networks.

The BayPackets/Convedia joint solution provides network operators a flexible multi-services platform based on open standards Specifications for hardware and software that are developed by a standards organization or a consortium involved in supporting a standard. Available to the public for developing compliant products, open standards imply "open systems;" that an existing component in a system can be replaced  and can be used to deliver a wide range of new voice and data services easily tailored to the needs of their business and consumer customers.
